Experience Indonesian Contemporary Performance and Theater: The “Embodiment et Cetera Showcase Performances”

We are delighted to announce the launch of the “Embodiment et Cetera Showcase Performances” page at aasinasia.ugm.ac.id/embodiment-et-cetera. This showcase is dedicated to presenting the most recent contemporary works from the fields of performance and theater in Indonesia.

The showcase includes a diverse range of performances, including choreography works, play readings and launches, and performance art works. Each performance aims to capture how Indonesian artists nowadays tackle and reconsider different issues in social dynamics, be it in religion, racial issues, or citizenship.

This showcase is specifically designed for participants and attendees of the AAS-in-Asia-2024 Conference, particularly those from the fields of Arts and Humanities. It is also open to students, both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as independent scholars and artists.

Each performance may or may not be followed by Q&A sessions and receptions. The venue for these performances is IFI-LIP Auditorium Yogyakarta (Institut Français Indonesia).
