Economic globalization, characterized by the increasing interdependence of world economies through the growth of international trade, investment, and capital flows, has profoundly shaped Asia’s economic landscape over the past few decades. However, recent shifts in global technological advancements and trade competitiveness demand the reevaluation of Asia’s global economic presence and resiliency. Under the theme of “Reinventing Economic Globalization in Asia”, this roundtable will explore how Asian economies can both adapt to and shape the evolving dynamics of globalization. While emphasizing strategies of empowerment to achieve economic resilience, this roundtable will also highlight the increasing significance of Asia’s local initiatives in transforming globalization. Cases of technological innovations, human development, migrant workers empowerment, R&D strategies, and inclusive sustainable development in several Asian countries will be examined as a means of rethinking Asia’s strategic role in the global economy.
