In our current complex and interdependent world, we are increasingly facing energy and environmental issues that are multidimensional, intricate, and entangled. While our training, pedagogy, knowledge production, academic practices, and problem solving are the products of established disciplines, more scholars recognize the value of interdisciplinarity thinking and approaches to solving many of our current problems. No single discipline would be enough to solve many of our overlapping challenges. In this roundtable panel, the panelists will discuss the value of interdisciplinary thinking and approaches and propose ways to effectively examine energy and environmental challenges for a sustainable future using interdisciplinary perspectives and approaches.
